JANUARY REVIEWS
Rom-Coms Are So Back

Eternity
Starring: Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, Callum Turner
Where to watch: Available to rent on Prime Video

In an afterlife where souls have one week to choose where they’ll spend eternity, Joan faces an impossible decision: the man she built a life with, or her first love, who died young and has waited decades for her to arrive.

Refreshingly unique, beautifully nuanced, and genuinely funny, this one has officially earned a spot on my all-time favorites list. Eternity offers exceptional performances by the whole cast, and clever, quirky touches that make the film feel unlike anything else I’ve ever seen. I laughed, I cried, and I want to do it all over again.

People We Meet on Vacation
Starring: Emily Bader, Tom Blyth
Where to watch: Netflix

Based on Emily Henry’s best-selling novel, People We Meet on Vacation follows best friends (and polar opposites) Poppy and Alex, who take one weeklong trip together every summer for ten years — until something changes.

While fans of the book have mixed feelings, I found the film charming, cozy, and truly good fun. Solid performances and undeniable chemistry from Emily Bader and Tom Blyth help elevate a somewhat familiar storyline. Overall? A delightful, feel-good watch.
