FEBRUARY REVIEWS
Hot Take: Bridgerton Season 4

Dearest Gentle Reader,
One might say the ton is talking — and not entirely in unison. The latest installment in the Bridgerton series has earned positive sentiments from critics, but fans have proven harder to impress giving the newest season the lowest score the series has seen thus far. Let’s see how scores stack up on Rotten Tomatoes:
Season 1: 87% Tomatometer / 70% Popcornmeter
Season 2: 78% Tomatometer / 73% Popcornmeter
Season 3: 87% Tomatometer / 77% Popcornmeter
Season 4: 82% Tomatometer / 67% Popcornmeter
This author, however, found Season 4 to be a rewarding and moving chapter in the Bridgerton saga. I’ve always been most drawn to Eloise and Benedict — the two siblings who consistently question the rules placed upon them and dare to imagine something different. Watching Benedict find a love match that feels passionate and pushes boundaries was deeply satisfying, and his journey carried a warmth that anchored the season beautifully.
Yes, the pacing is noticeably slower than Season 3, which juggled so many storylines it often felt breathless. But in this author’s opinion, the quieter rhythm here works in the show’s favor. Season 4 allows its relationships to unfold with intention, and the more mature, occasionally somber tone gives the series a sense of growth. It feels as though the characters, and the show itself, are evolving into something deeper and more reflective. If this is the direction Bridgerton is headed, I’m more than happy to follow — especially if it means we’re one step closer to finally seeing Eloise take center stage in Season 5.
