OCTOBER REVIEWS
Everybody Wants This?

Adam Brody & Kristen Bell in ‘Nobody Wants This’ S2

Last year’s hit series starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as an unlikely but loveable couple immediately jumped to Netflix’s top series spot after the release of it’s second season on October 23. While highly anticipated, the new season is receiving less-than-stellar reviews from fans with a 58% score on the Popcornmeter, compared to an 85% score for season one. The sophomore season saw more favorable reviews from critics with a lukewarm 76% on the Tomatometer, but still down significantly to season one’s 95%. Between Morgan’s (Justine Lupe) sudden and troublesome relationship with Dr. Andy (Arian Moayed), Esther’s (Jackie Tohn) underdeveloped mid-life crisis, and Joanne’s lack of readiness to convert despite seemingly connecting with Judaism, it’s hard to disagree. Maybe season three will be what everybody really wants.

OTHER NOTABLES:

  • October top pick: ‘Slow Horses’ (Apple TV+, S5)

  • Best drama series: ‘The Diplomat’ (Netflix, S3)

  • Best comedy series: ‘Platonic’ (Apple TV+, S2)

  • Best fall comfort (re)watch: ‘Gilmore Girls’ (Netflix, S1-7)

  • Most overrated new film: ‘A House of Dynamite’ (Netflix)
